From the gravel pit to High Voltage Energy Storage

The battery energy storage company xelectrix Power GmbH was founded in 2016 by brothers Alexander and Dominik Hartl and Christian Deutschbauer. The initial idea of Hybrization of diesel generators was born out of first-hand experience that diesel generators are often operating very uneconomically and increasing operating costs dramatically. This led to the concept and subsequent production of Energy Storage Systems that leads to fuel reduction, maintenance cost savings and emissions reduction. With the investments of Lansdowne Investment Company and Tansanit in 2020, the company is now able to implement global growth plans. In 2021, Mr. Martin Lehner will join xelectrix Power GmbH as investor and Head of Advisory Board.

To get the Power Box developed that fulfills all features and more, it became apparent early on that simply building systems using standard components would not work. What followed was years on intensive research and development that has made the Power Box a revolutionary product.
Series production in Austria! Under the highest quality criteria, our team of specialists produce everything - from the battery packs to the inverters - in series in Mauthausen!

2022
From October 1st, 2022, Dr.-Ing. Kai Steinfeld was appointed as the new Managing Director. He has an educational background in electrical power engineering and took on management tasks in Germany, South Africa, China, and Saudi Arabia.
Kai Steinfeld is convinced of the company‘s potential and is looking forward to a xelectrified future!

In 2021 our XPB PRO won the Red Dot Design Award and the BIG SEE Design Award for it’s innovative, robust and modular concept of an in- and outdoor Energy Storage System and the year isn’t over jet! The XPB PRO is also nominated for the Grand Prix Award in the subcategory “Work”.

We are happy to announce the entry of Martin Lehner as investor and strategic advisor! With the entry of Martin Lehner, we were able to inspire an extremely experienced top manager, visionary of the energy transition and real pioneer in the field of electrification of construction machinery for xelectrix Power.

Market launch of the Power Box at the exhibitions: Energy Storage Europe (Duesseldorf), Baume (Munich) and The smarter E Europe (Munich).

2018
Renaming Hartl e-Power in xelectrix Power.
Commissioning of the first prototypes. Entry of Christian Deutschbauer as Managing Partner.
2017
Successful implementation of the pre-series of Power Box - system solutions up to 140 kWh storage capacity. These products led to today's XPB-UNLIMITED series.
2016
Foundation of Hartl e-Power by Alexander Hartl and Dominik Hartl. The research work on the Power Box is in full swing! Innovation and initial field trials are implemented together by a specialized team.
2014
IDEA FOR THE POWER BOX
Challenges by the fact that diesel generators are costly on construction sites and are often operated inefficiently, the idea arose to design an energy storage system that can hybridize diesel generators.
2013
And the Red Dot goes to: HARTL ENGINEERING & MARKETING GMBH Austria, for the HARTL CRUSHER (HBC 950).
2011
Founding of HARTL Engineering & Marketing GmbH as a 100% family owned business managed by Mag. Dominik Hartl and Mag. Alexander Hartl in Mauthausen, Austria. The company specializes in the research and development of special construction machinery and equipment for the construction industry and was sold in 2019 to the German based Rokla GmbH.
2010
Introduction of the new Powercrusher product range PC1 to PC6 at BAUMA in Munich.
Sale of Hartl Anlagen GmbH, better known as Powercrusher compact and mobile screener and crusher plants, to the Swedish Atlas Copco Group. The company has been renamed Atlas Copco Powercrusher GmbH and is now an Atlas Copco SDE production company.
2009
STARTUP OF THE PRODUCTION AND ASSEMBLY PLANT WITH AN AREA OVER 12.000 m2 IN ST VALENTIN/THURNSDORF, AUSTRIA. The new production and assembly plant is built to the highest standard for plants producing mobile rock crusher units in Europe.
2008
2nd place in the EXPORT PRIZE 2008 in the 'Business' Category. The prize is awarded in the Vienna Palladium by Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), and Economy Minister Martin Bartenstein.

The Young Economy "YOUNG AUSTRIAN ENTREPRENEUR PRIZE 2007" in the category 'A fresh wind in traditional sectors' goes to Hartl Anlagenbau.

GOLD MEDALS AT IBR IN BRNO for Powercrusher PC 1375 l's innovative design and technology.

Gains the RED DOT DESIGN AWARD in Essen. The Powercrusher PC 1375 l is presented with the 'best of the best' Red Dot Award.

MODERN TECHNOLOGY & EXCEPTIONAL DESIGN. The latest crushing plants from the Powercrusher series are presented at trade fairs in Europe.
2001
Hartl Anlagenbau GmbH is founded by the sons of Adolf Hartl, as a 100% family owned company. Mag. Alexander Hartl and Mag. Dominik Hartl lay the foundation of their entrepreneurial activity.
2000
The company headquarters in Mauthausen opens a modern office building in the contemporary architectural style. Today, this is the headquarter of xelectrix Power GmbH.
1987
Production of the first compact and mobile impact crusher with an apron feeder. The Hartl family under the Powercrusher brand is establishing itself as the world's first manufacturer of mobile track mounted crushing plants.
1981
Presentation of the Powercrusher series at the Conexpo in Chicago / USA.
This was also the start of the international orientation of the companies philosophy.
1980
The Powercrusher is followed by the first fully mobile recycling plant for concrete. Mobile concepts for the processing of natural rock and the recycling of construction waste are successfully implemented.
1977
The development of the world's first mobile crusher unit: the POWERCRUSHER. A fully mobile extraction unit on wheels with a high throughput rate.
1968
On taking over their father's business, the brothers Franz and Adolf Hartl adopted a new approach. In fact, they were the real pioneers behind our modern crusher technology.
1940
The family launches their own shipping company for extracting river gravel. Entrepreneurship and the implementation of entrepreneurial ideas have been in the blood of the Hartl family from the beginning.
1936
Opening of the first gravel pit in Ennsdorf by Franz Hartl Sen.
1935
Franz Hartl Senior founds a company that dealt in freight, as well as gravel quarrying and processing. He is the grandfather of Alexander Hartl, Dominik Hartl and Christian Deutschbauer, who are the current managers of xelectrix Power.
